An investment of $ 35 million for Exceldor!

A Canadian leader in poultry, Exceldor is giving itself the means to accelerate growth and meet growing demand. The cooperative, whose facilities for shipping its facilities are at full capacity, announced today the construction of a distribution center that will become the hub of a supply chain with which it can combine agility and efficiency.

Covering an area of some 135 000 ft 2 , the new distribution center will require an investment of $ 35 million. It will be strategically located in Beloeil near the Jean-Lesage highway, and nearly 60 people will work there.

"This distribution center will be designed to generate significant efficiencies and optimize our processes. Called to become a real nervous center in terms of logistics, it will link our many production sites to delivery to our customers, "commented Exceldor President and CEO, René Proulx.

The construction phase will begin in the spring of 2018 for operation in the first quarter of 2019. The project must first obtain the consent of the City of Beloeil with whom Exceldor works closely.

"The buzz of the poultry market combined with the quality and freshness of our products suggests some very interesting business opportunities. We are excited to be embarking on this new chapter of our growth with the commitment of our members and the complicity of our valued employees, with whom we are proud to grow our organization, "said Proulx. .

Over the next few weeks, Exceldor will decide which specialized company will entrust the operation of this infrastructure, although it will retain ownership.

Exceldor is a cooperative whose mission is to offer poultry that people can proudly serve. The organization, whose head office is located in Lévis, divides its production between its factories in Saint-Anselme , Saint-Damase , Saint-Bruno- de-Montarville and Saint-Agapit in Quebec as well as that of Hanover in Ontario .

Exceldor is also co-owner of three other poultry companies, Unidindon and Poultry Giannone in Quebec, and Golden Valley in Ontario . The company markets products under several brands including Exceldor and Butterball. It employs more than 2,250 people and has sales in the order of $ 700 million.
